Tampa Adult Entertainment: WSET.com – ABC13Man pleads guilty in ‘Cathouse’ killing in Okla.

May 4, 2012

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A former Marine accused of killing four people, including a prostitute featured on HBO’s “Cathouse” series, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Friday and was sentenced to life in prison.

Tyner was charged with the Nov. 9, 2009, shooting deaths of Brooke Phillips, 22, who had worked at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Carson City, Nev., Milagrous Barrera, 22, Jennifer Ermey, 25, and Mark Barrientos, 32. The victims were found inside a burning home in southwest Oklahoma City that witnesses at a January 2010 preliminary hearing said was the center of a drug distribution and prostitution ring operated by Barrientos. Tyner, a mixed martial arts fighter, worked as a bodyguard for Barrientos.

Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, the legal brothel featured on “Cathouse,” said Phillips was well-liked and left “a lot of friends.”

According to testimony at the preliminary hearing, Tyner and a second man, Denny Phillips, 32, hatched a plan to kill Barrientos because they were not happy with the amount of money they were being paid from his drug and prostitution operation. Phillips participated in drug deals with Barrientos, according to testimony.

What do you think needs to be done to eliminate prostitution in the Seminole Heights area? Tell us in the comments section below.

Targeting prostitutes — PEZ, bordered by Fowler Avenue on the north, 15th Street on the east, Florida Avenue on the west, Seventh Avenue on the south, and with the Nebraska Avenue corridor in the middle, is a zone where a judge can ban a suspect with a felony prostitution arrest as a special probation condition. If prostitutes are caught more than three times in the PEZ, they face felony charges for violating probation, according to Tampa Police. Yet, PEZ offenders can be inside the zone for certain stipulated exceptions, such as for a doctor’s visit. “It’s a step, not a solution,” said Tampa Police Capt. Lee Bercaw during the meeting.

The Secret Service agent reportedly at the heart of a scandal roiling President Barack Obama’s protectors once worked for the St. Petersburg Police Department.
The government hasn’t identified any of the agents involved in the scandal that came to light last month involving the president’s advance security team and prostitutes during a boozy night in Colombia, according to media reports.
CNN has reported that Secret Service Agent Arthur Huntington brought the incident to light by refusing to pay an escort. Huntington was one of the Secret Service agents and military personnel preparing for the president’s April visit to Cartagena for the Summit of the Americas, according to CNN.

CNN is reporting 41-year-old Arthur Huntington was the agent who started the whole controversy when he refused to pay a Colombian prostitute.
The public embarrassment cost Huntington his job with the Secret Service.

Puetz says Huntington worked in traffic enforcement as a DUI officer for more than four years, and was considered a top cop.

May 4, 2012

… In the unincorporated area … (you have) a little bench sitting in the hot sun or the rain and people are sitting there waiting for the bus. Then you get to another area where they’ve got these nice shelters,” she said. “There’s a great disparity. If we’re going to move forward in this county with improving and expanding our transit system, we’ve got to have accommodations for our passengers.”
In banning the ads, Dunedin officials cited a desire to preserve the city’s beauty, especially in residential neighborhoods.
They also were dismayed about the lack of control over ad content, saying they were told PSTA had no authority to address past complaints about ads the city believed contained stereotypes or images that weren’t family friendly. For example, they objected to a past radio station ad in a low-income area that featured a black man dressed like a pimp.
