Before, when someone reported an apparent prostitute was walking the street, officers couldn’t do much. To make an arrest, they had to witness a crime — such as a drug deal or exchange of money for sex. That’s why so many prostitution arrests are made through undercover operations.

Teddy S. Green, 31, of Tampa was arrested Nov. 30 at N Nebraska and E 19th avenues. Police officers found him with cocaine and in violation of his felony prostitution conviction. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.

Prostitution has been a problem along the stretch of road for years. Tampa Police officials said one of their biggest challenges is keeping repeat offenders away.
On Thursday night, officials announced the creation of a new ‘Prostitution Enforcement Zone’ along Nebraska Ave. The new program will create additional penalties for those caught breaking the law in the zone.
Officials said the new zone will have stiffer penalties for those arrested for prostitution after three times. A part of a repeat offender’s probation after the third offense will be a ban from the zone completely.

LAND O’LAKES — Two more women have come forward with allegations about the man they said raped them at knifepoint. That brings the total to five.
It began in October, when Nathan Christopher Floyd, 30, picked up prostitutes in Hillsborough and Pasco counties and brought them to Dade City and Land O’Lakes, a Pasco County Sheriff’s report said. He raped the women in the woods, holding a switchblade.
The most recent rapes happened on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27, the reports state.
Floyd, of 21376 Snook Circle in Land O’Lakes, was already being held in Land O’Lakes jail without bail when the most recent rape charges were added.
He is now being held on five counts of sexual battery with a deadly weapon and one count of felony possession of a firearm on a warrant. His bail has been set at more than $1.7 million.

A Land O’ Lakes man accused last week of sexually assaulting a prostitute at knife point has been accused of additional sexual assaults, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Nathan Christopher Floyd was arrested and charged Monday with sexual battery with a deadly weapon in connection to a case on Oct. 10 and another two in late January.
Last week, Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, said Floyd is suspected of picking up prostitutes in Hillsborough County and driving them to wooded areas in Pasco County to sexually assault them.
Doll said Tuesday that all the victims were prostitutes, but he did not know where they were from.
In the October and January cases, Floyd drove the women to the Dade City area, according to arrest reports.

8 more men arrested in sting targeting soliciting sex with men in Polk Co. parks
LAKELAND –
Polk Count Sheriff Grady Judd and PCSO Vice detectives announced the arrest of eight more men for soliciting sex with other males in a Polk County park.
According to officials, the men were arrested during an undercover operation at Saddle Creek Park on Combee Road, between Lakeland and Winter Haven.
Officials said detectives made contact with the men in the park and six of the eight were arrested for allegedly asking detectives to have sex with them.
According to officials, the following men were arrested for soliciting sex with a male detective:

Pasco man accused of preying on prostitutes
WESLEY CHAPEL — Nathan C. Floyd, a 30-year-old laborer with the grim reaper tattooed on his forearm, is accused of preying on prostitutes in Hillsborough and Pasco counties.
Authorities say the women willingly followed him to locations where he raped them, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office states.
As of Friday afternoon, Floyd was charged with raping three women, all prostitutes in Hillsborough. Pasco Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll said Floyd brought the women to Pasco. The victims told investigators that Floyd held a knife to their throats and threatened them during the act. One victim, who is 38, said Floyd brought her to a house in the Angus Valley neighborhood of Wesley Chapel on Nov. 1. The other two victims, ages 33 and 25, said they were assaulted in the woods.

A Land O’ Lakes man was arrested Thursday evening on suspicion of picking up a prostitute and driving her to a vacated residence to rape her at knife point.
Nathan Christopher Floyd, 29, of 21376 Snook Circle, was arrested after the victim identified him in a photopack. Floyd admitted to having sex with the woman, whose name is not being released, but said he didn’t use the switchblade knife he had on his person.
This particular incident took place on Nov. 1, 2011. According to the arrest report, Floyd drove the victim to a vacant residence at 26438 Brahma Drive in Wesley Chapel and placed an open knife blade againt her throat.

Floyd may face more charges related to similar attacks on other prostitutes in Hillsborough and Pasco counties, officials said. Other women have positively identified Floyd through a photopack.
