Tampa Strip Clubs: Hernando woman indicted for murder in death of motorcyclist

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

McCain was a quiet, caring family man who worked as a funeral director at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home & Crematory for about a decade. McCain and his wife each had two children from previous marriages.
Over the last two years, Miles’ close friends and neighbors say the young mother spiraled into drug abuse, violence and bad decisions.
The night before the fatal accident, she was dancing under the stage name “Liza” at the Brass Flamingo, a strip club in Port Richey. About 2 a.m., a manager said, a club employee escorted Miles outside following a dispute. As she peeled out in the pickup, she tried to run him over. Throughout the early morning, three people called 911 to report her erratic driving before she was pulled over in Hudson.

Tampa Strip Clubs: Wrapping Up The Bruins-Lightning Series With SB Nation Tampa Bay

Sunday, May 29th, 2011

Most times you’re devastated when your team loses 1-0 in Game 7 of the conference finals, but it actually didn’t bother me very much because they had done so much more than anyone thought was possible. I don’t think we’re going to pull a Hartford and throw them a parade, but everyone’s still happy and grateful for such an unexpected run.
GC – A lot was made about Mike Calta’s grass root campaign to have the Bruins take down their “offensive” signs. What were your thoughts on that whole series of events?
CB - The shuffleboard jokes were just stereotypical and not at all offensive. Not as funny as the ones about female Flyers fans shaving their mustaches, but Tampa doesn’t really offer that kind of comedy unless you want to make jokes about strippers.

Tampa man accused of killing J.J. Revear also coached youth football
By Justin George, Times Staff Writer In Print: Wednesday, May 25, 2011
TAMPA — Police call Jimmy Lee Cruz a killer, blaming him for the death last week of J.J. Revear, once Tampa’s most notorious child criminal.
But scores of young boys knew the 33-year-old Cruz as something else over the past five years: coach.
Cruz, despite 20 state arrests, has helped lead youth football teams, his record apparently overlooked by the Mid-Florida Football & Cheerleading Conference, which requires background checks of volunteers.
He might have been excluded for having distributed cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school or soliciting prostitution, both past convictions. He was also charged with shooting a man in 1996, though that case was dropped.
