Tampa Adult Entertainment: Cook: Steelers’ Keisel lives dream with interception return

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Doing what a former tight end is supposed to do, Keisel turned upfield at the Steelers’ 21 and saw nothing but green in front of him. Well, green and Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman.
“I knew I couldn’t let him tackle me,” Keisel said. “If I had let him get me, these guys would never have let me hear the end of it.
“I had to score. If I didn’t, everyone would say, ‘He’s getting old. He can’t run like he used to.’ To be able to actually score a touchdown like that and do it on a big stage is awesome.”
No, Freeman wasn’t a problem. Woodley made sure of that, taking him out with a block. Cornerbacks William Gay and Ike Taylor also were there to provide an escort service for Keisel.

Tampa Escorts: Seminole spoils Wilson’s debut with Mainland, as the Buccaneers fall 23-19

Seminole spoils Wilson’s debut with Mainland, as the Buccaneers fall 23-19
DAYTONA BEACH –
A new era began in Daytona Beach Friday night, as Mainland hosted Seminole at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium.
Former Mainland Buccaneer player and assistant coach Scott Wilson took over the Mainland football program on an interim basis after John Maronto resigned earler this week. Maronto was then formally charged for soliciting a prostitute on September 4.
With Mainland leading 6-3 in the second quarter, quarterback Shelton Wilson was intercepted by the Noles’ Erik Farkas, who returned it 43 yards to inside the 10-yard line. The Noles would turn that into points two plays later, when Deron Thompson rushed into the endzone for a 10-6 lead.
Bucs running back Jontey Byrd fumbled on Mainland’s next possession, leading to a 30-yard touchdown run by Thompson to put Seminole up 17-6 at halftime.

Tampa Adult Entertainment: Wanted in Tampa: Romance

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Mitch Traphagen Photo
Tampa needs an Empire State Building. However, my track record in meeting at the top follows that of Cary Grant’s. My wife was delayed at the airport, and our planned romantic midnight meeting ended in her being angry with the shuttle company and me spending a few hours in front of the building with two non-English-speaking Korean guys and a woman who might have been a prostitute.
By MITCH TRAPHAGEN This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it There is no romance in Tampa. There is a ton of romance in cities like San Francisco and New York. In New York, people in love can meet (or, tragically, not meet) at the top of the Empire State Building. In New York, people in love and lust can meet at the Chelsea Hotel; and then memorialize their liaison through word and song. San Francisco, of course, is a good place to leave your heart and a gener …

Tampa Escorts: Flamingo Resort celebrates one year of bringing the community together

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Flamingo Resort celebrated its one-year anniversary Labor Day weekend.
A little over a year ago, the property at 4601 34th St. South in St. Petersburg was in complete disarray.
In fact, the site, which in its heyday housed a Holiday Inn, was downright decrepit. The pool lay empty, full of cracks and debris. The walls were grey and peeling. Weeds grew from any crevice they possibly could. Homeless used the vacant building for squatting and prostitution ran rampant.
Essentially, it was a hovel.
You’d never know it today, though, as Flamingo Resort, the Tampa Bay area’s only luxury GLBT resort, recently celebrated its one-year anniversary over Labor Day weekend. What was once an eyesore to the community is now bright, beautiful and vibrant.
“Originally, it was grey and gloomy,” said David Baker, resort director and part owner. “It was really in disrepair, and, frankly, it was gross.” But then the new owners funneled $1.5 million – and counting – into renovations and the place has been transformed. “You wouldn’t recognize it.”

Tampa Adult Entertainment: LPD Officer in Incident Identified

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

A report on the shooting released by Orange County on Tuesday said Haynes had stopped by his father’s home on Kaley Street in Orlando. Haynes was inside with his 9-year-old son, Ryan, when the shot was fired.
The boys in the car, ages 10 and 7, found the gun in a bag in the front seat of the car, the report said. The 7-year-old began “clicking” the gun and it fired, hitting his brother in the hand.
The report identified Chauncey Cleckley of Orlando as the injured boy. The name of his brother was not released. A Orange County spokesperson said state law allows deputies to withhold the child’s identity.
The report said that Haynes was unwilling to give a statement to investigators or describe what happened.
Lakeland police Sgt. Terri Smith said LPD initially reported Haynes as an undercover officer because he is assigned to the special investigations unit and works with the street crimes unit, which targets drugs and prostitution.

Tampa Adult Entertainment: Should park close earlier?

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Councilman Bill Jonson asked why some Clearwater parks close at sunset while others stay open later. Parks director Kevin Dunbar said it depends on how well-lit the parks are.
“Typically, parks that are open until 11, they have illumination,” Dunbar said. In the case of Crest Lake, “There was a time when there was a request to put lighting around the park so that people could go walk and enjoy the park in the evening.”
JoAnna Siskin, a longtime Skycrest resident who’s part of a citizens patrol at Crest Lake Park, was among those who contacted City Council members to request the earlier closing time.
“It would be a tool for the police to ask people to leave the park who shouldn’t be there,” she said. “It’s dark by 9. The families go home. There’s vandalism, vagrants, drugs, prostitution. If someone would still like to walk there, they can walk the outer perimeter, which is safe and lit.”

Tampa Adult Entertainment: ‘A Little Night Music’ at Palladium: A pleasure, though an uneven one

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

To be sure, a Sondheim musical is never an effortless ride. The casting is so demanding that there is bound to be a clinker or two in the bunch, and in a performance like this by opera singers, the witty dialogue sometimes isn’t so witty.
A Little Night Music, like most Sondheim musicals, requires a little work by the audience.
The payoffs are considerable, though. Send in the Clowns is a great song in the hands of many artists, but you haven’t really experienced it until you’ve heard and seen it in its theatrical context. Buffy Baggott, as Desiree Armfeldt, a diva on the wrong side of 40, was spellbinding in Sondheim’s ballad of regret. Kenneth Derby plays Desiree’s old flame, Fredrik Egerman, and he brought a droll comic style to tricky patter songs such as Now.
Regina Torres, as the wise old courtesan Madame Armfeldt, talked-sang her way through Liaisons, giving delicious inflection to her commentary on the fools around her.
