Now Landrieu’s phones are at the center of federal charges against four men accused of trying to tamper with them. Among those arrested was conservative activist James O’Keefe, who gained notoriety last year with hidden-camera videos showing him dressed as a pimp exposing irregularities in offices of the liberal community-organizing group ACORN.

Deputy hit, injured in funeral procession

A Hillsborough deputy who was providing escort service for the funeral procession of Sgt. David Croft was hit and injured by a vehicle that cut through the procession line.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Daryl Bowden, part of the motor unit, was in the area of Reynolds St. W. and John Martin St. when a pickup truck pulled out of a parking lot and directly into the procession line. Deputies say the driver, Shannon Lima-Jones, 40, then tried to turn left to exit the procession line and turned into the path of Deputy Bowden.
The Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Bowden was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Lima-Jones, of Crystal Springs, was charged with failure to yield to a funeral procession and right of way.

Hillsborough County, Florida –
Today, Hillsborough County deputies were providing escort service for the funeral of a fallen soldier that was killed in Iraq when a woman cut into the procession and struck one of the deputies’ vehicles. 
The accident happened in the area of Reynolds Street West and John Martin Street. The driver, Shannon Lima-Jones, exited the parking lot of a Dairy Queen and cut into the funeral procession line. Once in the line, she decided to make a left to exit the procession and turned into the path of the motor unit that was assisting with the funeral.
Deputy Daryl Bowden was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Shannon Lima-Jones was cited for: Failure to Yield to a Funeral Procession, Failure to Yield Right of Way and No Proof of Insurance.

Theresa Jones, 49, just got out of prison on Wednesday two-year, eight-month sentence. It was her fourth stint in prison doing time for drugs and prostitution.
While in prison Jones began a pen pal romance.
When she was released her pen pal was there outside Lowell Correctional Institution in Ocala to pick her up, reports the St. Petersburg Times.
They headed straight to a New Port Richey hotel.
Once at the hotel she told her pen pal partner that she was going out to his car to get some beer.
After awhile he went outside to check on her.
She was gone — and so was his 2007 Suzuki Forenza and the beer.
