I understand the law is the law but don’t the cops have anything better to do? Usually at events like this, if folks have their beers in unmarked cups and they are behaving themselves and not being belligerent, the cops are pretty cool. I guess the Tamp police thought that instead of busting up drug or prostitution rings, they’d haul 400 people down town for having a beer AT A PARTY. What a load of crap.

Spring Hill man gets life in prison for robbery

BROOKSVILLE — A 25-year-old Spring Hill man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday night for robbing a lock-and-key store in a crime rampage that included several armed robberies in Hernando County and surrounding areas.
Timothy Gartner, who spent two years in state prison for previous convictions, was arrested in December 2007. Authorities initially took a different man into custody but began focusing on Gartner after he tried to use a stolen credit card at Lollipops, an adult entertainment spot in Hudson.
Prosecutors said Gartner was lingering in Spring Hill Lock & Key on Dec. 19, 2007, when he pointed a BB gun at Jean Stanonis and demanded money.

FriendFinder postpones IPO until next week
NEW YORK
Penthouse magazine publisher FriendFinder Networks’ initial public offering will be postponed until early next week to give the company more time to answer questions from the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to one of the underwriters managing the deal.
FriendFinder Networks Inc., which also operates adult entertainment and networking Web sites including AdultFriendFinder.com, was expected to debut on the market Thursday but needs time to prepare a written response to the SEC, said Renaissance Securities (Cyprus) Ltd.
The company will sell 20 million shares and hopes to raise $220 million. The stock is expected to price between $10 and $12 and will trade under the symbol “FFN” on the Nasdaq Global Market.

And barring some miracle, always will …
Frankly, we think it’s hilarious to watch decrepit old “Republicans” like Orrin Hatch and John McCain (among many, many others) trying to pretend they weren’t part of the Washington gravy train when it was flowing in the other direction.
Sure, we’re glad they are standing up to Obama’s socialist agenda now, but that doesn’t absolve them of their responsibility for ushering in that agenda by betraying the principles their party was founded on.  Nor does it mean they can be trusted moving forward.
Anyway, we hope this refresher will serve to remind our many Democratic commenters (which is itself a sign of our equal opportunity outrage) that when it comes to pimping us as “Republican apologists,” that donkey don’t hunt.
