What happens when you wanted to be a physicist and it just didn’t work out?
Well, that’s an easy question. Go to your backup plan. Become a hooker!
It worked for Dr. Brooke Magnanti, AKA Belle de Jour, reports Times of London .
The former Clearwater resident is a 28-year-old call girl who describes her sexual exploits in a blog. It’s reported to be very, very graphic. But then she probably knows a lot of big, complicated words.
See, when she isn’t entertaining millions of readers with her fun takes on paid sex, she has another gig. She also works at the Bristol Initiative for Research of Child Health. Her specialist areas are developmental neurotoxicology and cancer epidemiology. She has a PhD in informatics, epidemiology and forensic science.

How’d she become a prostitute? She studied anthropology and mathematics in Florida: “I wanted to be a physicist, but that just didn’t work out.”

I’m hoping it doesn’t go away because there is no place else like it in Tampa Bay.

It oozes sophistication without being stuffy, and it’s never a surprise to find athletes and celebrities mingling about. …
He lost his job and he got disbarred, but the fact that former appeals Judge Thomas Stringer got only a $250 fine and a year’s probation for mortgage fraud left me incredulous. Judges should be held to a higher standard. To whom much is given, much is expected. …

Tampa Strip Clubs: Ex-judge avoids jail, gets probation

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

But Stringer avoided any prison time for committing federal bank fraud to help a stripper he had known for years. Instead, he was sentenced to a year of probation, ordered to forfeit $222,000 and fined $250.
The former judge’s professed dedication to community service will now be mandatory, at least for awhile. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to perform 150 hours of community service.
During the brief sentencing hearing, the prosecutor, judge and defense attorneys all agreed Stringer had been punished enough – losing his judgeship, his law license, his reputation and the forfeiture money.

Stringer’s career began to unravel after stripper Christy Yamanaka told News Channel 8 and The Tampa Tribune about her 13-year relationship with the married judge. She said the relationship had been sexual, but Stringer denied that.

Tampa Strip Clubs: Ex-Judge Gets Probation, $250 Fine For Bank Fraud

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Former appeals court judge Thomas E. Stringer Sr., who copped a plea in August to federal bank fraud charges for lying on a loan application he had submitted in order to obtain a $350,000 mortgage for a house in Hawaii he bought with a stripper, got a sweetheart deal when he was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Elizabath A. Kovachevich.

Kovachevich told Stringer, 65, that he was to be commended, apparently for taking the plea deal after prosecutors and the paper trail caught him red handed when the stripper blew the whistle on the former judge.

Stringer had stated on the loan application that none of the money being used for the down payment was borrowed when in fact he had obtained the cash from the stripper, Christy Yamanaka.

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

NAPLES A former appellate judge who ruled on Collier and Lee county cases for more a decade was sentenced Friday to probation for bank fraud involving a Hawaiian home he fraudulently purchased with a New York stripper.

After more than two decades as an appellate judge, Stringer stepped down a month after the Judicial Qualifications Commission filed misconduct charges against him. The JQC alleged he helped the stripper hide her assets and income after a judge threw out her bankruptcy petition and ordered her to pay $315,000.

It was the stripper who eventually turned against him and went to the media, which ended his unblemished career and prompted the JQC investigation and federal prosecution. The JQC dropped its charges after he stepped down from the bench, agreeing never to be a judge again.
