Tampa Strip Clubs: Spring Hill man accused of assaulting deputy

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Squair, who had a noticeably swollen lip, refused to answer questions and told the deputy to get off his property, the reported showed.
Squair clenched his fists and tensed his arms while following closely behind the deputy as he walked away, authorities said.
The deputy grabbed his arm and Squair began pushing and pulling away using his body weight, according to the report.
He was taken down and he still continued to struggle, deputies said.
He was handcuffed and arrested after a second deputy arrived and assisted in bringing Squair to the patrol car, according to the sheriff’s office.
Squair’s female friend said he was attacked by a group of men outside Lollipops, a gentleman’s club in Hudson, and he was still angry about it. That was where he got the swollen lip, she told deputies.

Tampa Adult Entertainment: City puts ‘nuisance’ label on motel

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

But Tampa police say that for more than a decade the Luxury Motel at 4608 E. Hillsborough Ave. has been a magnet for drug dealing, prostitution and other criminal activity, including two standoffs with law enforcement officers that ended with gunfire.
In 2000, the motel was sold to Charles and Ella Grubbs, but police say drug dealers and prostitutes still use the property.
So after building a case against the owners for more than a year, the police department took them before the city’s seldom-used Public Nuisance Abatement Board.

Several undercover police officers and detectives testified to a long list of documented drug buys and prostitution stings that involved people operating out of the motel.

One of the group’s main functions is to hear cases about properties with a history of drug sales, gangs, prostitution and dealing in stolen property.

Tampa Adult Entertainment: Trinity Rotary steps up to the table

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

NEW PORT RICHEY – Not all Florida children will sit with their families around a Thanksgiving table this month. Some of them will eat out of garbage cans.
November as National Runaway Prevention Month brings into focus the desperate plight of runaway and homeless children, so members with Rotary Club of Trinity wanted to help them.
Club members, led by Barry Poppel, came together to start the Cook ‘4′ Kids Program last week at the RAP House in New Port Richey, according to Becky Bennett with Pasco Kids First.
Some 1,200 runaways last year in a nine-county area found comfort and aid at the RAP House and other Youth and Family Alternatives facilities.
The majority of chronic runaways become victims first, Bennett pointed out, but when left on the street with no legitimate way to acquire food and shelter, they sometimes become part of street survival crimes, such as drug dealing and prostitution.

Tampa Adult Entertainment: City board orders owners to clean up drug-infested motel

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

But Tampa police say the site of the Luxury Motel at 4608 E. Hillsborough Ave. has, for more than a decade, been a magnet for illegal drug sales, prostitution and other criminal activity, including two standoffs with law enforcement officers that ended in gunfire.

Board members closed down the Honky Tonk Bar at 4309 N. 34th St. for about a year in 1998, to put an end to constant complaints about rampant drug sales on the property. And in 2004, the board forced a lingerie modeling shop to install video cameras and remove doors from modeling rooms after three prostitution arrests occurred there.

The ruling was based on lawsuits filed by business owners in Miami and St. Petersburg whose properties were seized by a nuisance board over drug sales and prostitution.

Tampa Strip Clubs: Purge Your Past, Sell an Ex’s Jewelry!

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

They’re purging the past through a popular website, ExBoyfriendJewelry.com.
Women can tell their stories and sell their memories, everything from purses, to watches to rings. In fact, the engagement rings have a section all their own with pages and pages of items to choose from on the website.
But, there’s a catch.
You have to share your story when you sell your stuff. And, there are plenty of eyebrow-raising tales.
One woman who is selling her authentic Louis Vuitton handbag writes, “He was a cheat, a true D-O-G. But, he was and is R-I-C-H. Money could not and will not buy my love.”
Another woman is selling her carat and a half wedding ring for $1,000. She tells a tale of infidelity. “He cheated with a stripper. I divorced him and got everything, including the rings.”
