Tampa Escorts: Coalition of Catholic Groups Calls for Massive Reform of US Bishops’ Social …

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Scandal erupted in the U.S. Church last year over the CCHD’s funding of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), a liberal network of local community activism groups.  At least two dioceses, in fact, opted not to take up the collection last fall.  The CCHD, which has given ACORN millions of dollars in the last ten years, cut their funding last year based on reports of embezzlement within the organization. In recent weeks, several ACORN offices were caught condoning child prostitution and sex trafficking in a series of videotaped sting operations conducted by veteran pro-life investigators.
The new pro-life coalition, which includes Human Life International (HLI), American Life League (ALL), and the new Bellarmine Veritas Ministry (BVM), was formed following a report released in August by BVM which revealed that the CCHD was funding at least four groups that promote abortion, contraception, same-sex ‘marriage’, and even legalized prostitution.  The report also listed numerous groups that are advocating the current proposal for health care reform without prejudice to its funding of abortion.

Tampa Escorts: Portsmouth Sheriff Dept. tries to track down unregistered sex offenders before …

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

As it gets closer to Halloween, the Portsmouth Sheriff’s Department’s Community Enforcement Unit is taking action to find unregistered sex offenders in their city.
“These are people you definitely don’t want out on the street – especially around small children,” says Deputy Parker Jernigan.
Sheriff’s deputies are looking for six people – all wanted for not registering as sex offenders in Portsmouth.
Some of them have committed heinous crimes against children, and deputies say all of them are considered dangerous around kids.
Raymond Mitchell doesn’t have a last known address and he was convicted of rape.
Edward Belfield was convicted of forcible sodomy and rape and frequents the bar Thumpers in Portsmouth.
Geralda Brue served time for sexual crimes against nature.
Jason Trusty served time for sexual assaults against children and is wanted for additional sex charges.
Eric Hobbs served time for abducting a child for prostitution and rape.

Tampa Strip Clubs: Fall Classic: Complex’s 2009 World Series Preview

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Of course the sports talking heads are chattering away about this could-be classic of a Series, but we know you don’t come to Complex to talk about who hits better when they’re behind in the count. You’d rather know who’s fans fight better in the stands, and who’s pitching coach is more likely to spark a j in the dugout, right? We thought so, and made sure to include both in our Ultimate Guide to the 2009 World Series.
FANS: The Yankees and Phillies fans are both notorious for different reasons. Yankees fans have an arrogance that makes Kanye look humble, while Phillies fans hate everyone including Santa. NY may have the glitz of stars like Kate Hudson and Jay-Z at home games but Phillies fans just go harder. Pause. Advantage: Phillies
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
With a payroll over $200 million for most of this decade, the Yankees always have an endless amount of stacks on deck. The Phillies payroll totaled $111 million this year so they aren’t hurting either. But the Yankees treat all-star free agents like old men treat strippers when their social security checks come in—they can have whatever they like.Advantage: Yankees

Tampa Adult Entertainment: World Series Fever Leads to Reciprocal Insults, Prostitution

World Series Fever Leads to Reciprocal Insults, Prostitution
Tuesday, Oct. 27 2009 @ 4:00PM
The crude boosterism of local tabs has certainly helped jack up interest in the World Series. Some people, of course, needed no help. A woman has been arrested for offering sexual favors for Series tickets. It pains us to reveal the 43-year old woman, Susan Finkelstein (pictured), is a Phillies fan.
The insults to Philadelphia bellowed by the Post and the News has not gone unnoticed elsewhere. “New York Post: Phillies, Philadelphia and Rocky Balboa all suck,” reports the Chicago Sun-Times. “It’s War,” cries the Philadelphia Fox News outlet, “New York Insults The Phanatic.” They strike back with reminiscences of The Dandy, a mascot employed by the Yankees from 1980 to 1985 who, Fox asserts, was “reportedly beaten up by unhappy Yankee fans.” Also: “the Yankees have been using actress Kate Hudson as their person in the stands during national TV games”…

Tampa Adult Entertainment: Kiffmeyer relationship with bank not interesting enough?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Pat Pheifer of the Star Tribune offers a portrait of the St. Paul Police Department’s Offenders Prostitution Program, better known as john school. The program is run by an organization called Breaking Free (here’s its web page), which Pheifer describes as “a St. Paul organization that helps women escape prostitution and its accompanying lifestyle,” and the day-long program is intended to demonstrate to convicted johns that prostitution is not a victimless crime. The story is also interesting for the discussion that ensued, which seems to be a product of the Strib’s moderating policy: a complicated and mostly civil debate has broken out as to possible solutions to prostitution, including legalizing it, and a comment accusing a local pastor of being a john looks to have been swiftly removed. It’s very strange to see a comment-section discussion at a newspaper that actually adds value to the original story, rather than simply being an unregulated zone in which partisans hijack every issue to promote their talking points. If you want to do that now, you’re probably going to have to be a politician.

Tampa Strip Clubs: Reflections on the Exotic Erotic

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Instead, what I encountered inside Cow Palace was a mix between a state fair, a strip club Halloween party, and a WWE match.
This was my first time attending this ball, so I cannot speak for previous years’ parties (this is the event’s 30th year). But what I saw at Cow Palace this weekend was neither erotic nor exotic, but rather, tawdry and dull. Perhaps if I wasn’t a citizen of San Francisco, I might have found the entire production slightly more challenging to the senses, but having seen the things I’ve seen, the Exotic Erotic Ball was a suburban heterosexual’s B-side version of Folsom. There was a discernible lack of a large gay or bi- presence at the show (discounting the number of women insipidly grabbing at one another for staged photo ops), and a disproportionate number of straight hand-holding couples in matching, un-coolly elaborate Halloween costumes, eating expo food while ogling the various stripper booths. Mentally clothe the entire arena, and what you’ve got is basically a state fair …

Tampa Escorts: Superfreakonomics, the book you can’t take home to mother

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Their book Freakonomics (The Hidden Side of Everything) sold more than 4 million copies, and now Stephen J. Dubner, an author and journalist in New York City, and Steven D. Levitt, a professor of economics at the University of Chicago, are back with more in SuperFreakonomics, which was published Tuesday. They continue to look for the weird but illuminating comparisons and contrasts and to find hidden threads that have deeper meaning, this time on topics ranging from why prostitutes‘ pricing has fallen in recent decades to why doctors aren’t washing their hands often enough. Of course, there is a controversial chapter on global warming. We publish some excerpts from the book as well as answers from Dubner to questions posed by e-mail from Perspective editor Jim Verhulst. Q&A | With the authors: Why did you take another run at Freakonomics? What was your point in writing a second book? Even before our first book was published, back in 2005, we realized we really enjoyed working toge …

Tampa Escorts: St. Petersburg City Council member Jeff Danner faces Leonard Schmiege in …

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Danner, 49, says he came to public service naturally. He was a carpenter and contractor working on historic homes in and around Historic Kenwood who occasionally found himself amazed at land-use decisions made by city boards. Friends encouraged him to serve on the boards himself, so eventually he did.
Danner said he remembers when it wasn’t easy to find a restaurant that would stay open for dinner in downtown St. Petersburg on a Saturday night. He, his wife and friends made a point to patronize the ones that did.
So the council was a logical next step for him four years ago, he said.
Danner said he has worked to revitalize the Grand Central area and to bolster 34th Street businesses affected by drugs and prostitution. He is now focusing heavily on transportation issues, serving on the boards of the Pinellas Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.

Tampa Escorts: Could the homeless call old Floriland a new home?

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

The place opened when Richard Nixon was president as one of the first enclosed shopping centers around, in a prime locale at Busch Boulevard and Florida Avenue. Legions of kids bought their school shoes at Montgomery Ward and watched movies like Smokey and the Bandit at its theaters. Shoppers crowded the mall to stroll AC-cooled and carpeted halls decorated in an oh-so-’70s nautical theme. Along with nearby Northgate Plaza — home to the fancier Maas Brothers department store — Floriland was one of Tampa’s first shopping meccas.
Only a few years later, bigger, badder University Square — what you might call a Real Mall — opened but a few miles away near USF. For Floriland, this was a serious pop in the chops. Storefronts emptied. Nearby neighborhoods struggled, and so did Floriland.
The owner of a clothing boutique was charged with running a prostitution ring out of there. A security guard was accused of sexually assaulting a shoplifter. Interstate 275 behind the mall could bring in the wrong kind of traffic: In 1983, a nude body was left in the parking lot.
