Tampa Strip Clubs: High bonds for robbery suspects

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

It was just Tuesday that Boston attempted to rob the First America Bank location a second time, however, the bank kept the doors locked.
Boston rattled the doors and then walked toward the back of the building, taking off an outer layer of clothes.
All banks were robbed by a man described as wearing a blue sweatshirt, shorts and a baseball cap who passed a note to a teller, according to authorities.
Boston wore sleeves to cover his arms because he had tattoos, according to reports.
Lunsford gave Boston a ride to Superior Bank on his motorcycle to rob the bank, according to the arrest report.
Boston told police in the other robberies he used a bicycle to get to the banks.
Lunsford also helped Boston by lending him sunglasses and a Peek-A-Boo strip club baseball cap to use as a disguise, according to reports.

TAMPA — It is an ordinary fast-food restaurant building. It has dark red tile floors to hide stains, easy-to-wipe square tables and a front counter that could serve tacos as easily as it could burgers.
The small building at 2038 N Dale Mabry Highway along a strip of chain stores, restaurants and strip bars, opened last week serving pizza.
Looks pretty plain Jane.
Except by name: “Not Your Average Joe’s Pizza.”
And the Joe behind it all isn’t an everyman like Joe Six Pack or Joe the Plumber.
This pizza parlor proprietor is Joe Redner, Tampa’s strip club king, the owner of the nationally renowned Mons Venus.

Tampa Strip Clubs: The webcam girls next door: The naked truth behind a lucrative …

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

On the site Brandon uses to broadcast his models, RealAmateursLive.com, users can browse the chat rooms of a variety of webcam girls, guys or couples. Clients congregate around their favorite performer the same way strip club habitués circle the pole of their favorite dancer. The models then flirt with members, coaxing them to buy private sessions for $5.99 a minute. In these sessions, clients type or say their requests while the models act out fantasies on request. Most men just want the women to play with themselves and talk dirty, while others want something a little kinkier.

The adult industry has shifted to accommodate this change. Webcams connect voyeurs with exhibitionists, offering a personalized experience which can’t be mass-produced. While a webcam is not as hands-on as a strip club, it offers users a different kind of intimacy — the ability to talk to models anonymously.

Tampa Escorts: ‘A vicious cycle’

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Tribune photo by JOSE PATINO GIRONA
The newly formed Nebraska Avenue Alliance wants to stop prostitution along Nebraska Avenue and says its mission is to fight crime on Nebraska from downtown to Bearss Avenue.

The alliance wants prosecutors and judges to deal with prostitutes as felons if they have been arrested three times for prostitution. They also want the men who solicit them to have their driver’s license suspended.

And the organization wants to educate people who come to Nebraska to meet a prostitute. They want to show how it affects both families and people who live in the neighborhood, Lasater said.

When not doing undercover work, patrol cars serve as a deterrent, she said. This summer, the police will put mobile electronic message boards in high prostitution areas that will give a warning to prostitutes and their clients, she said.

Tampa Massage Parlors: Youngest legislator making her mark

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Burgin, who got her state House seat through an appointment process that caused controversy last year, hit a few bumps, including one bill regulating massage parlor advertising that drew some mockery.
But her experience as an aide to Traviesa helped her work the system better than some expected.
“That gave her a lot of fundamentals on how the process works – little things like handling appointments, getting up in front of a committee, how you work other legislators behind the scenes,” said Bill Bunkley, a lobbyist and Tampa activist in Christian-right causes.
When Burgin got the District 56 seat – representing Brandon, Riverview and parts of South Tampa – some critics said she was too young and inexperienced for the post.

Second, she filed a measure late in the session to forbid suggestive language sometimes used in massage parlor advertising to offer sexual services.
